Montrose R-XIV School Board Recognition

January 22-28 Designated School Board Recognition Week

Governor Jay Nixon proclaims January 22-28, as School Board Recognition Week honoring the efforts and dedication of school board members across the state. According to the governor's office, the celebration is hosted to highlight Missourian's benefits from the dedicated energies and countless hours devoted by a group of more than 3,600 men and women in every community across the state.

Our school board members are elected by local constituents and do not receive compensation for their tireless efforts, creating even more reason for recognizing them annually.

"We are very fortunate to have a group of volunteers that care so deeply about our students and community," said Richard Wells, Superintendent of the Montrose R-XIV School District. "The School Board members are willing to put forth the time and effort to make our district a great place for our students to learn."

Local school board members are called on to be an important part of the policy-making process for their districts and are often asked to help make decisions about educational programs, facilities and personnel, attend regular and special board meetings, guide the Superintendent, and network with the public. Their service helps make sure decisions about our schools are made as close to the needs of the children and communities as possible and their actions very much affect the present and future lives of the children they serve.

Montrose Board of Education members are:  Mr. Kent Schussler, President; Mr. Chad Vogel, Vice President; Mr. Bill Morris, Treasurer; Mr. Russell Bracher; Mr. Bruce Foster; and Mr. Chris Munsterman.
